About

The first ideas for the creation of ANAMM date from 1998 and in the same year the first “Declaration of intent” was initialed, on 23 October, in the city of Matola. On the same date, the Installing Committee was created, composed of a President (Matola), a Vice President (Nampula) and a Secretary (Beira).

In 2004, in the City of Quelimane, the Association's Constitutive Congress was held, an act that marked the absolution of the installing Commission and the election of the Social Bodies of the new Association that would take office in March 2005, when they were also , the Association Statutes were approved.

The general purpose of ANAMM is to promote and defend the interests of local authorities, to foster inter-municipal cooperation and to represent local authorities with national, regional and international institutions.
