National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) is a Government Agency under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Transport, was incorporated in 1983, for executing Metro Lines projects in Arab Republic of Egypt and does the relevant scientific and economic researches in this connection, in co-operation with foreign and local companies.

Since its establishment, NAT has successfully executed Metro Lines Networks (more than 83 KM), in addition to the other relevant establishments and utilities. The Project investments have reached 23 billion Egyptian pounds with a rate of 700 million Egyptian pounds every year. These investments rates are undoubtedly high and unprecedented in comparison with the other agencies in the Government of Egypt.
