Who they are
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) was established following the 2007 reforms as a statutory council by the Educational Act of 2008, Act 778. The Council is responsible for the development and determination of its advice on matters relating to curriculum and assessment. The Council is a representative structure, the membership of which is determined by the Education Act 2008 (ACT 778). It has 21 members, all of whom are appointed by the President of Ghana in accordance with Article 70 of the Constitution of the Republic of Gnana. The members represent education professionals, employers association, religious and faith-based bodies. business interests, teacher unions, and other educational interests. Other members include representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, a nominee of the west Africa Examination Council, and of the Ghana Federation of the Disabled. The Minister appoints the Chairperson.
The NaCCA has 31 full-time staff, led by an Executive Secretary and funded by the Ministry of Education. Tne current Council was appointed and commenced its work in July 2017 for a period of 4 years renewable.

To raise the quality of education at the pre-tertiary level. with emphasis on science and mathematics as fundamental building blocks for accelerated national development and to instill in young Ghanaians a heightened sense of cultural identity and nationalism.

Brief History of NaCCA
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) was established The third Governing Council of NaCCA was inaugurated on the 26" of July, 2017 following the 2007 reforms as an Advisory Board to the Curriculum Research by Hon.
