About Fonarev
Legal framework
FONAREV is a public establishment of a technical, financial and social nature, with legal personality, which enjoys financial and management autonomy. It is under the supervision of the Ministry responsible for human rights. The legal texts governing FONAREV are:
- Decree No. 22/038 of December 6, 2022 establishing the statutes of a public establishment called the National Fund for Reparations for Victims of Sexual Violence linked to conflicts and other crimes against the peace and security of humanity, FONAREV in acronym
- Law No. 22/065 of December 26, 2022 establishing the fundamental principles relating to the protection and reparation of victims of sexual violence linked to conflicts and victims of crimes against the peace and security of humanity;
- Decree No. 23/20 of June 9, 2023 modifying and supplementing Decree No. 22/038 mentioned above.
