Created by Decree No. 92-182 of July 6, 1992, the National Institute of Agricultural Research of Benin (INRAB) is the only national institution that is involved in agricultural research in Benin. It responds, with the different actors of the agricultural world, to the national and international stakes of agriculture and development.
A public institution of a scientific and technical nature, with legal personality, INRAB is under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (MAEP).
INRAB's activities are focused on plant, animal, fish and forestry production and climate change, studies and policy analysis, training, services and consultations. The different topics studied are: Fertility, fertilization, phytosanitary control, conservation and improvement of phylogenetic resources (seeds), economic and financial profitability and forestry research.
