It is a public institution with its headquarters in Maputo, created under Decree no. 9/2012, of 11 May, of the Council of Ministers and endowed with legal personality with technical and administrative autonomy.
INIR is a Ministry-supervised institution that oversees the area of agriculture and aims to efficiently and sustainably plan, develop, exploit and manage land and water resources for agricultural production.
