About

The National Mine Action Center NMAC is the government body mandated to plan, coordinate and oversee all mine action operations in the Northern Region working in collaboration with the Northern Regional Mine Action Office (NMRAO). NMAC serves as the implementing arm of the National High Committee on Mine Action. 

NMAC was established in 2005 by the Government of National Unity in Sudan with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme.

The NMAC consists of a headquarter element located in Khartoum and three sub-offices located in Damazin, Kadugli and Kassala.

Mission:

To develop and implement a sustainable national mine action programme, able to plan, coordinate, implement and monitor all aspects of Mine Action in the Sudan and mobilize the required resources to make Sudan free from the threat of landmines/ERW plus mine risk education, threat prevention and threat elimination.
