About

The Government of Cameroon, with the help of the community of multilateral and bilateral donors, has set up a Program called “National Participative Development Program”, abbreviated PNDP, designed in three phases of four years each. This Program is an important tool for implementing the Cameroon Growth and Employment Strategy document, in particular the local development axis of the rural sector development strategy.

The first two phases of the Program have already been implemented with the support, in addition to internal financing (HIPC, BIP), those of the World Bank, AFD in the context of debt forgiveness. bilateral with France, from a donation from KfW. These financings contributed to the implementation of these phases in six regions during the first phase, (Adamaoua, Center, North, West, South and Extreme - North), KfW resources being exclusively reserved for Extreme
- North, then on all ten regions thanks to the second phase. In addition, the program benefited during its first phase from additional funding for specific operations, namely sustainable land management through the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and a Japanese grant for plant management and medicine.

The Program Development Goal in its third phase is to strengthen the management of funds s local public and participatory development processes in municipalities to ensure the provision of infrastructure and sustainable socio-economic and quality services .
