The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) operates in the model of One member Limited Liability Company under Vietnam Electricity (EVN). It was established in accordance with Decision No. 1339/VPCP-ĐMDN dated March 3rd 2008 by the Office of Government on establishment of EVNNPT and Decision No. 223/QĐ-EVN dated April 11th 2008 by EVN’s Board of Management.
The establishment of EVNNPT was on the basic of re-organizing 7 units including 04 power transmission companies: Power Transmission Company No. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 03 projects management boards: Northern, Central and Southern Power Projects Management Boards. The aims of this establishment are to ensure a secure, uninterrupted, stable power transmission for the socio-economic, political, national defense and power market of Vietnam.
EVNNPT has a charter capital of VND 22,260 billion, total asset of VND 65,686 billion by June 30th 2014.
Currently, EVNNPT has a total 7,356 employees who are engineers, workers responsible for managing and operating the high-voltage and ultra high-voltage equipment that are dangerous to the laborers, workers specialized on safety, management in the transmission system. Any errors, failures, shortage of understandings on safety in managing and operating power equipment can cause accidents and serious problem, affecting directly the power supply of the whole power system.
