The National Water Authority (ANA), of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, in accordance with Law No. 29338 - Law on Water Resources, is the governing body and the highest normative technical authority of the National Water Resources Management System, which It is part of the National Environmental Management System.
History
The ANA was created on March 13, 2008 by Legislative Decree No. 997, in order to manage conserve, protect and take advantage of the water resources of the different basins in a sustainable manner, promoting in turn the culture of water.
The ANA is a specialized agency, which belongs to the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (MINAGRI).
