Ne'emanei Torah Va'Avodah (NTA) is a Zionist-religious movement that promotes a moderate vision of the world, strengthening tolerance and openness within modern orthodoxy. We pursue this goal with a unique offer of education and training programs. The NTA movement was founded in 1978, in response to the growing extremism and ultra-orthodox influence within Orthodox Judaism, which threatens Israel's Jewish and democratic identity, undermining the very heart of our society .
MISSION
Their goal is to create an open and non-dogmatic Orthodox Jewish culture, and to promote a courageous and creative halachic thought, capable of revitalizing Jewish life. The goals of NTA are to strengthen tolerance, equality and social justice in the Orthodox community, and to positively influence the Jewish and democratic character of Israel.
MAIN PROJECTS
NTA creates unique educational material, and organizes special programs for teachers, educators, youth counselors and rabbis, who explore the concerns of modern orthodoxy.
NTA works with and supports individuals and groups who face challenges in the religious education system.
NTA created Re'im, a pluralistic Beit Midrash where Orthodox men and women study together the Bible, Talmud and Jewish philosophy on an equal footing. Re'im participants focus on the main topics of Jewish life in modern society.
