Nikken Sekkei Civil Engineering Ltd. (NSC) was founded in 2001 as a separate company, taking over all of the business of the civil engineering department of Nikken Sekkei Ltd.
The origins of the civil engineering department of Nikken Sekkei go back to 1919 and the founding of Osaka Kitaminato Co., Ltd., which handled the renovation of Osaka North Port and development of the surrounding region in what would today be termed a PFI project. Since then, through cooperation with the private business sector in various industrial infrastructure improvement and development projects, social infrastructure projects such as railways, and buildings, along with the rapid growth of Japan's economy, we have worked to expand the scope and performance of our business, primarily in the planning and design of urban spaces and facilities, and to develop original technologies.
Business Activities
As of April 2012, NSC has four business divisions:
The entire company works together to promote the independence of each department and collaboration among departments, to form an optimal project team for each individual project, and to meet our clients' needs at the highest level.
