About

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) established four Regional Children’s Advocacy Centers in 1995. The Regional CACs provide training and technical assistance resources for communities to develop Multidisciplinary Child Abuse Teams and Children’s Advocacy Centers. The Philadelphia Children’s Alliance is the grantee that has operated the Northeast Regional Children’s Advocacy Center since 1995.

NRCAC provides training and education for CAC Directors, MDTs and communities on topics related to the implementation and compliance with the 10 standards of NCA Accreditation, including, but not limited to:

  • Developing and/or increasing organizational capacity to facilitate a comprehensive, response to child abuse among prosecution, law enforcement, child protection, victim advocacy, and medical and mental health providers;
  • Building Chapter Capacity;
  • Enhancing or Expanding monthly Case Review;
  • Assessing a community readiness for a CAC & developing an MDT;
  • Managing conflict among team members;
  • Strategic Planning and/or Strategic Conversations for nonprofit Boards or Advisory Boards;
  • Vicarious Trauma training and Building Resiliency in Child Abuse Organizations;
  • Role of Victim Advocacy within the CAC Model;
  • Expanding your CAC to include working with sexually exploited youth;
  • Other topics as requested
