The Department of Primary Industry and Resources (DPIR) was established by the Northern Territory (NT) Government on 12 September 2016 and has one minister, one chief executive and offices in each major region of the NT.
The department brings together many of the key functions that drive economic development on NT lands, coastal areas and inland waterways, and its operations cover the whole of the Territory. Industry sectors are mines, energy, fisheries, livestock, horticulture, agriculture.
