They are a non-profit organization established in Madrid in 2009, registered in the National Registry of Associations and in the Registry of NGOs of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

Mainly made up of former Cuban prisoners of conscience, belonging to the 'group of 75' imprisoned in the cause known as the Black Spring of Cuba in 2003; members of the Ladies in White Association and other Cuban human rights activists in Cuba and in exile.
