Ögonblicksteatern is a professional independent theatre company, founded in 1974, with subsidy from the municipality, the region, The Swedish Arts Council and from varied foundations. Their aim is to make the stage mirror the reality and they do this by allowing different types of bodies and stories on the stage. They educate people with disabilities in dramatic art and they currently work with an integrated ensemble (i.e. both people with and without disabilities). Today their area of competence, apart from theatre and dramatic art, are accessibility, normative power systems and democratic rights. Ögonblicksteatern create theatre to make norms visible and questioned. To make the theatre accessible, they must examine the world around us and our way of giving it form.
