One Billion Literates Foundation is Bangalore based non profit non governmental organization started started by Anamika Majumder to provide Quality Education for the underprivileged by imparting essential English skills to government school children and the community around them.
Services Offered : They sign agreements with the state government to bring more resources to government primary schools. They have so far adopted 10 schools in and around Bangalore where they are working hard on bringing English skills. Also, they are setting up a library with early learning books and a computer at every school, they hire (usually underprivileged women) from the community around the schools to teach and utilize the resources put by them at the schools.
Projects : Annual syllabus distributed to more than 200 children attending state primary schools. Many of these children are imparted basic computer skills. Many women from the local communities employed.
