The NGO ADIG Mauritania organized a series of training courses in Life Skills and GERME. The aim of these trainings is to set up a social safety net system that will improve the access of the poor and threatened by food insecurity to cash transfer programs and community work through cash for work.
In addition to supporting household consumption and food insecurity, as well as facilitating Human capital investments, adaptive social protection programs also aim to facilitate investment in income-generating activities of households that benefit from social safety nets. The goal is to increase productivity and income in the economic activities of social safety net beneficiaries, but also to facilitate diversification and income smoothing and to help households manage risks and cope with shocks.
