Operation Eyesight Universal is an international development organization dedicated to eliminating avoidable vision loss—blindness or vision impairment that can be prevented or treated—through partnerships with local hospitals, governments, and the support of donors worldwide.

Founded in 1963 in Calgary, Canada, Operation Eyesight Universal has been recognized as a key contributor to global efforts to eliminate avoidable blindness and vision loss. With the support of generous donors, the organization collaborates with local hospitals and government partners to invest in sustainable eye health treatment, blindness prevention, and community development, improving lives both now and for future generations.
The organization maintains staff, country offices, and boards of directors across four continents, with active programs in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Sri Lanka, and Zambia, and plans for further expansion.
For more than a decade, Operation Eyesight Universal has implemented its Hospital-Based Community Eye Health Program model to provide access to quality eye health services at the community level, reaching people in remote and underserved areas.
Its work supports the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3: Good Health and Well-Being, as well as related goals on poverty reduction, quality education, gender equality, water and sanitation, and partnerships.
