Ost-Ausschuss Osteuropaverein (Eastern European Association East Committee)

The Ost-Ausschuss Osteuropaverein is the major regional initiative of German business for 29 countries in Central Europe, Eastern and South Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The OAOEV is available to its member companies for flanking projects, for arranging contacts and for questions about market entry. They work closely with the Federal Government and the governments of the partner countries to reduce trade barriers and improve the economic environment in the region. The OAOEV was created in May 2018 through the merger of the Eastern Committee (founded in 1952) and the Eastern European Association of German Business (established in 1989). It is supported by six leading associations of the German economy and has around 350 member companies. As a center of excellence , they inform their members about current market developments through country and industry working groups, specialist conferences, delegation trips, background discussions as well as print and online publications. As a door opener , they network their member companies with the federal government, the governments of their 29 partner countries and the EU Commission and offer them valuable contacts to the relevant local economic players. As advocacy action they in the sense of the German economy in bilateral intergovernmental working groups and committees.
