Oxfam Novib is a Dutch foundation and the Dutch affiliate of the international Oxfam organization.
Oxfam Novib is fighting for a just world without poverty. Together with people, organisations, businesses and governments. Through projects and lobby. Locally and internationally.Oxfam Novib works with a rights based approach. To them, poverty is in fact the same as a lack of rights. There are five rights to which anyone in the world should be able to appeal to.
Oxfam Novib works in 34 countries worldwide. Oxfam Novib’s head office is located in The Hague. There are some 350 members of staff. Alongside they have six field offices, with around 35 members of staff. They are located in Nairobi, Islamabad, Kabul, Bujumbura, Niamey and Jerusalem.
Programs
Oxfam Novib’s work is organised into five programmes based on five fundamental rights:
To provide an even stronger focus to their programmatic work, they have identified thematic priorities for each of their programs: struggle for land, food and water; fair markets and financial systems; quality education; conflict transformation; access to information; and women’s bodily integrity. They have set specific targets and measurable outcome indicators for each of the programmes, and for each country or cluster of countries.
