About

HISTORY

The Palo Alto Art Center Foundation was established in 1973 as the Palo Alto Art Center Guild, just two years after the establishment of the Palo Alto Art Center (as the Palo Alto Community Cultural Center). Throughout the past four decades, the Foundation has provided much-needed resources to create, support and enhance programs and to transform and renovate the Art Center. The Foundation’s most successful achievement has been the successful completion of a $4M capital campaign. Completed in October 2012, the $7.9M renovation represented a landmark public/private partnership between the Foundation, the City of Palo Alto, and community members.
