In El Salvador, 39.2% of adolescents between the ages of 16 and 18, of age to finish their high school studies, do not (EHPM, 2017). This is due to multiple factors such as social insecurity, lack of economic resources, or even the lack of interest within families. To change this situation, Plan International grants scholarships that consist of support for transportation, food and teaching materials, accompanied by a process of training and empowerment. 

Since 2012, the initiative, to date 9,963 scholarships have been awarded mostly to girls and also to children from the departments of La Libertad, Chalatenango, Cabañas, Cuscatlán and the southern zone of San Salvador.

For Plan International, education with inclusion is a fundamental pillar to transform the material conditions of life and development of the country and to generate lasting changes in which children, adolescents and youth have an environment where their rights are recognized and exercised; In addition to promoting their active participation to be agents of change and support each other.
