Ports and Railways of Mozambique (Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Mocambique) (CFM)

Mozambique Ports and Railways (CFM) is a legally constituted State-owned Company with the responsibility to operate in the area of the transport industry, the Ports and Railways Sector, and to ensure the satisfaction of the needs of the populations in terms of mobility and movement, thus contributing towards the stabilisation and the improvement of the Country’s balance of payments in addition to functioning as a promoter of employment.

The Ports and Railways Services of the Colony of Mozambique constituted an industrial company of the colonial state, who were incumbent among others, on the following functions:

• Promote and carry out the study and construction of the Ports and Railways, and the establishment of any other means of transport, in connection with railway operations;
• Explore Commercially and industrially the Ports and Railways
