The Fund for the Development of the Blue Economy, FP - ProAzul, is a Government financial mechanism that works in partnership with the different sectors of the State, the private sector and civil society so that strategic and financial resources are aligned with effective initiatives for sustainable exploitation of inland waters, sea and coastline created by decree 91/2019 of 27 November.
Among the main activities carried out by the Fund are the financial and strategic management of projects, the design of financial mechanisms and studies of new sources of resources, in addition to technical assistance to the Government of Mozambique in the development of the Blue Economy and the fulfillment of the Development Objectives Sustainable, especially the goal 14 .
ProAzul will operationalize a Platform that will function as a gateway and articulation between providers and demanders – Government, Cooperation Partners, Private Sector, NGOs and Academia – ensuring the screening, transfer and monitoring of information on the need for funding to all of them. of projects aimed at the development of the blue economy, in particular in the sectors of ports and infrastructure, mineral resources and hydrocarbons, fishing and aquaculture, culture, tourism and sport, maritime transport and shipbuilding, energy and research and development.
