Sahelian country poor and landlocked, Burkina Faso faces a recurring, food insecurity, nutritional due to the combined action of declining rainfall, loss of soil fertility, extensive techniques of agricultural production. pastoral.
The environment is weakened by deforestation, pollution of various kinds and the phenomenon of climate change among others.
The elements of this context sustain a vicious cycle in which poverty, food insecurity, energy insecurity and environmental degradation feed each other and undermine the sustainable development efforts of the Government and the people.
To meet the challenge of sustainable development, the Government is engaged in climate risk management actions. The promotion and exploitation of biodigester technology is part of this framework.
Global Objective
The overall objective of PNB-BF is to contribute to the creation of a permanent (viable and market-oriented) multi-stakeholder sector for the construction and exploitation of biodigesters in order to improve living conditions, increase sustainable agro-pastoral production and to fight against the poverty of rural and peri-urban households.
