PT Jaya Konstruksi Manggala Pratama, Tbk, as part of the Jaya Group, is an integrated infrastructure company with core competencies in the infrastructure sector and building construction sector, asphalt trading and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), precast concrete manufacturing and mechanical and electrical work as well as maintenance services. The Company was established on December 23, 1982, when the PT Pembangunan Jaya Department of Contracting was separated to become a separate legal entity. Initial listing of the Company's shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in December 2007.
Over the years, the Company has continued to expand its business scope, adding new capabilities to key businesses in construction services, and is now positioned as one of the leading public infrastructure and investor providers in Indonesia, operating in important sectors for transportation growth (roads, bridges, toll roads, airports and subway tunnels), electricity and energy, and water (flood control and water supply). The Company's main existence has also been developed in the commercial sector, which provides integrated construction services, engineering and maintenance for hotels, malls, apartments and office buildings in Indonesia and abroad. In 2007 the Company acquired four direct subsidiaries: PT Jaya Trade Indonesia, PT Jaya Teknik Indonesia, PT Jaya Beton Indonesia and PT Jaya Daido Concrete.
Since that time, the Company has expanded its portfolio by acquiring several indirect subsidiaries: PT Jaya Gas Indonesia, PT Toba Gena Utama, PT Sarana Bitung Utama, PT Metroja Mandiri, PT Kenrope Utama, PT Sarana Merpati Utama, PT Adibaroto Nugratama, PT Adigas Jaya Pratama, PT Sarana Lampung Utama, PT Sarana Lombok Utama, PT Sarana Jambi Utama, PT Jaya Celcon Prima and PT Global Bitumen Utama. In 2009, the Company established two joint ventures to pursue interests in the construction and operation of the toll road, PT Jaya Konstruksi Pratama Tol (with PT Pembangunan Jaya Infrastruktur) and PT Jaya Sarana Pratama (with PT Jaya Real Property Tbk).
And in 2009, the Company's subsidiary PT Jaya Trade Indonesia expanded the bulk asphalt terminal business by establishing PT Sarana Mbay Utama and PT Sarana Aceh Utama; this was followed by the establishment of PT Sarana Sampit Mentaya Utama in 2010. PT Kenrope Sarana Pratama and PT Kenrope Utama Sentul were each established in 2010 and 2011, to expand the LPG trading business. The Company also operates in the water and wastewater management business through PT Sarana Tirta Utama and PT Jaya Mitra Sarana, both of which were established in 2010 by PT Jaya Teknik Indonesia. In July 2013 the Company issued 326,170,397 new shares (rights issue) or equivalent to 10% of the total issued and paid up capital. This result is used to finance investments in new infrastructure (inner-city toll roads and drinking water supply) and expansion of the capacity of Jaya Beton and Jaya Trade. In September 2013 the Company conducted a 1: 5 ratio stock split in order to increase stock liquidity.
