SEKALA (PT Serasi Kelola Alam) is an Indonesian based consulting company that specializes in forest governance, Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+), land use change, conservation, community mapping, spatial land use planning, conflict mitigation, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing. They also provide research and analysis for the forestry, agriculture, plantation, energy and mining sectors. Their company aims to develop realistic, tangible and innovative solutions for environmental problems. It also aims to offer balanced solutions that bring benefits for local people and the environment. These solutions ultimately seek to achieve social and environmental harmony. Their clients include donor agencies; local, national and international NGOs; government agencies; research organisations and companies. They have developed a unique ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders to mitigate conflicts and provide results. Their core team is comprised of mapping specialists, project managers, analysts and technical experts with a wide range of expertise in natural resource management disciplines, spatial planning and mapping. Their team has extensive expertise on critical forestry issues, such as illegal logging, forest conservation, oil palm expansion, bioenergy, land use change and social forestry.
