The Center for Women's Resource Development (PPSW), is one of the women's NGOs in Indonesia that continues to consistently develop and assist women's groups on the basis since its establishment in 1986 today.
As an organization, PPSW has evolved to change with the development of existing conditions. Since April 2005 PPSW has become an association organization with four autonomous institutions namely PPSW Jakarta, PPSW Pasoendan, PPSW Borneo and PPSW Sumatra. The PPSW Secretariat is the node that coordinates the development of across autonomous organizations in order to remain a strong and effective association association. The PPSW transformation is in line with the development of a more decentralized system in Indonesia today. Autonomous institutions will continuously develop and assist groups in their respective regions.
PPSW Jakarta as one of the autonomous institutions in the PPSW association has assisted 6,398 base women who are members of 333 groups / cooperatives in 28 sub-districts of 18 sub-districts.
The main objective of PPSW Jakarta is the empowerment of women, especially those in the lowest socio-economic strata in society that are concentrated in urban slums. PPSW Jakarta chooses some of the focus of problems faced by the community such as economic issues, reproductive health, political education and education as an entry point in organizing the community, especially women's groups.
In order to achieve these objectives PPSW Jakarta do various activities such as facilitating community through training and workshops according to their needs, and to develop local community organizations and networks to advocate for their interests. In addition PPSW Jakarta also conducts research, publishing, seminars and workshops to support the activities carried out with the community.
PPSW Jakarta has the Jakarta PPSW Foundation Legal Entity, since November 8 with Notary Deed No. 01, Ny. Asmara Noer SH.
