Qatar Shell Research and Technology Center (QSRTC), QSTP, LLC—100% owned subsidiary of Shell—is anchor tenant of the freezone established by Qatar Foundation in Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a home for technology based companies from around the world.
The vision of the center is: “To fuel innovation into Qatar’s energy ecosystem.” And the mission is: “To drive the State of Qatar and Shell forward in Gas monetization through technical innovation and research excellence.” The center represents Shell’s global research and development (R&D) in Qatar, delivering projects related to Gas-to-X. Gas in GTX can be CO2, CH4 or C2H6; X can be LNG, GTL, chemicals or other products. The center takes a portfolio approach to Gas-to-X with equal efforts spent on: Existing Assets (Pearl GTL and LNG) and Future Assets (for example, H2).
