The Our São Paulo Movement was launched in May 2007 from the perception that political activity in Brazil, public institutions and democracy are on the credibility shaken to the population. We note the need to promote initiatives that can restore to society the values ​​of sustainable development, ethics and participatory democracy.

In October 2010 the movement was renamed Network Our São Paulo, with the objective of strengthening the articulation of a broad social field for common goals and, at the same time preserving the continuing differences for specific, short-term, regional issues, etc. , ensuring complete freedom of speech and expression to its members.

The Network aims to build a political, social and economic force capable of compromising the society and successive governments with an agenda and a set of goals in order to offer better quality of life for all inhabitants of the city. Our purpose is to turn São Paulo into a safe, healthy, beautiful, caring and truly democratic.

More than 700 civil society organizations within the network, which is absolutely non-partisan and inter-religious, has no president or board, constituted and expands horizontally.

Today they have the support of community leaders, civil society, business and citizens - all interested in participating in the process of building a new São Paulo.

But the network wants more. Hopes to have the participation of the whole society to gather ideas and propose actions that can contribute to fair and sustainable development of the city in key areas such as Education, Environment, Safety, Leisure and Culture, Labor, Transportation, Housing, Health and Services .

They work in a different city, based on successful experiences already carried out in Bogota and Barcelona, ​​among others.Make São Paulo a better city is everyone's job.
