Regional Center for Book Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (CERLALC)
CERLALC is an international intergovernmental organization that provides technical advice to Latin American governments in the definition and application of policies, programs, projects and actions for the promotion of books, reading and copyright.
It was created in 1971 at the initiative of UNESCO. At present, 20 countries of the Ibero-American region of Spanish-Lusitanian language have joined this organization.
The mission of CERLALC, is to promote and develop creativity, production, free movement of the book in its various media and within the framework of the principles of equity, strengthening cultural diversity and thought, respect for the law of author and human dignity, as well as the promotion of critical and reflective reading, so that the book fosters intercultural dialogues in the region and the latter with the world, thus contributing to the improvement of people's quality of life .See more
