Set up in 2006 on the belief that public decisions must be taken in a participatory way. That is, the mayor, the minister, the school principal - or anyone with decision-making power - must listen to people when making a decision.
By public participation, they understand the process by which citizens and organizations:
-Expresses its needs and desires
-defends his interests and rights
-contributes to public policy making and public decision-making
-react and demand accountability to officials and public institutions
and public institutions and their populations:
-consults citizens and organizations when developing policies and making decisions
-take into account what people say
-I use community expertise
To contribute to governance as above, the mission we are committed to is, together with citizens, organizations and communities, to build a day-to-day fair, equitable and solid world where people's voices are central to decision-making.
