Resources Legacy Fund (RLF)
About

Resources Legacy Fund transforms philanthropy into significant conservation outcomes. RLF designs and builds initiatives that address philanthropic partners’ aims by applying innovative, leading-edge strategy and execution, that draws on world-class policy, law, and science expertise, as well as by engaging diverse urban communities and conservation constituencies, business leaders, and policy officials. With some of the same donors and new ones as well, they also work in issue areas beyond natural resources, including voting rights, reproductive rights, gun safety, health, arts, and education.

The programs and projects range in scale from modest to vast—from protecting a particular site to preserving regional assets or international resources to helping develop or ensure robust implementation of new policy. Much of the work has shaped conservation in four priority areas—lands, rivers and watersheds, coasts and oceans, and climate adaptation and resiliency—in California, across western North America and internationally.
