Their member companies, which include large corporations as well as SMEs and small businesses, are economically successful globally with their modern understanding of corporate responsibility and in many respects are considered exemplary companies. They promote open and professionally professional dialogue between different stakeholder groups and support joint development in sustainable future topics. Initiatives and co-operation of respACT members show how companies take on unbureaucratic and concrete responsibilities and jointly master the challenges of their time and shape a sustainable, sustainable society. For example, the initiative # businesses4refugees showed the great social commitment of their members.
Their extensive network and their professional expertise offer members numerous opportunities for exchange with stakeholders from business, society and politics, as well as for competence development in the internationally dynamic topic of CSR. In doing so, they are creating the basic prerequisites for establishing the contribution of companies to sustainable development within the meaning of the 17 Global Objectives of the United Nations (UN Sustainable Development Goals) also in Austria.
In addition, since 2004 they have acted as co-ordinator of the Global Compact Network Austria . The multi-stakeholder platform now unites over 100 organizations, and the initiative has more than 13,000 signatories worldwide. These are actively supported in promoting the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection and the fight against corruption.
