National standardization body - ASRO is an association, Romanian legal entity of private law, public, non-profit, non-governmental and apolitical organization based on the stipulations of Law no. 163/2015 on national standardization and Government Ordinance no. 26/2000 on associations and foundations.
Main responsibilities:
- Establishing principles and methodology of national standardization
- Development and approval of national standards and participation in European and international standardization
- Managing the documentary standards and publications in national and international standardization
- Providing public information in national standardization
- Editing, publication and dissemination of standards and standardization publications
- ISO and IEC in Romania represents and defends copyright of international standards adopted
- Providing products and services to users of standards to meet their needs
Promoting respect the copyright on European standards adopted
- ASRO granted on request national marks of conformity SR (Romanian product standards compliance) and SR-S (Romanian security standards compliance)
Standardization at European level is regulated by Regulation 1025_2012 ASRO is a full member of the:
- CEN - the European Committee for Standardization (01.01.2006) and
- CENELEC - European Committee for Standardization in Electrical Engineering (01.02.2006)
- ETSI - European Institute for Telecommunications Standards (2005) to Category NSO - National Standardization Body .
and internationally on:
- ISO - International Organization for Standardization (1950)
- IEC -Comisia International Electrotechnical (1920)
ASRO is represented in:
