Rural Infrastructure Project (Proyecto de Infraestructura Rural) (PIR)

The Government of Honduras , arranged a Credit with the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank (WB) , aimed at meeting various needs in the sectors of Road Rehabilitation, Water and Sanitation and Electrification in certain rural areas of the country, providing a series of designs, works, assistance programs, studies, training and other components. The FHIS acts as the administering and executing entity through the Rural Infrastructure Project (PIR) . The PIR is a Project whose area of ​​influence is the rural communities of those municipalities that are associated in Commonwealths that meet selection criteria related to poverty conditions and community organization, begins in the western part of the country with the CRA commonwealths , which It comprises seven municipalities of Santa Bárbara and CHORTI, which is made up of ten municipalities in the north of Copan. Subsequently, the Project incorporated four more communities, MAMBOCAURE in the department of Choluteca, MAMCEPAZ in the department of La Paz, GÜISAYOTE, in the department of Ocotepeque, and MAMNOin the Olancho department. In 2011 the Commonwealth of AMFI in the department of Intibucá, MANOFM of the department of Francisco Morazán and CAFEG of the department of Lempira joined the Project's area of ​​influence
