Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD)
Sacramento City Unified School District is one of the oldest K-12 districts in the western United States (established in 1854). SCUSD serves 43,024 students on 77 campuses spanning 70 square miles.
SCUSD is home to a 2013 California Distinguished School (West Campus High School), three Public Waldorf schools (George Washington Carver, Alice Birney and AM Winn) and the only Hmong language immersion program in the state (Susan B. Anthony Elementary School).
Sacramento City Unified School District is guided by the mission to provide every student at every school with the tools they need to be successful. To be effective in this mission, they must focus on proven strategies that directly impact our students’ ability to access high quality instruction and receive the appropriate supports to help them become college and career ready. Further, they must identify and then address obstacles that limit or prevent students from accessing a high quality education.
