The SAB is the central development institute of the Free State of Saxony. On the basis of the Law Establishing the Saxon Development Bank - Förderbank - (FördbankG) of 19.06.2003, the SAB as an institute of public law supports the Free State in fulfilling its public duties.

Whether private individual, association, association, company, research institution or municipality - the SAB offers the appropriate support programs for many target groups. On behalf of the Free State of Saxony, they award funding in the areas of business and labor market, housing construction, infrastructure and urban planning as well as environment and agriculture. In essence, they support through grants, loans and guarantees.

In close cooperation with the Saxon State Government they would like to strengthen the economic development of the Free State. That's why SAB relies on strong partners at local, state, federal and European level. These include the Saxon municipalities, the chambers and associations, the banks and savings banks, the KfW banking group and the European Investment Bank.
