The Salinas Regional Sports Authority was formed in 2008 by local community volunteers to address the unmet need for recreational sports facilities for the youth in the Salinas area. Their focus includes five key sports: soccer, softball, baseball, volleyball and track/field.

Beginning with soccer, it is their vision to develop, build and manage high quality sporting facilities for recreational and competitive teams, regional and local tournaments and high school championship games. The facilities will also serve as a venue for youth development, training, and after-school programs by local child-serving organizations.

These sports facilities will provide a safe healthy space for fitness, life skills and athletic development as well as an economic engine for local businesses and municipalities.
