SANIPLAN was founded in 1982, originally to provide consultancy services in the water and sanitation sector. Through the health significance of the Watsan activities, the organisation expanded quickly into other domains of the health sector. Over the years the portfolio within health expanded significantly and it is the main building block of services offered today. Since its creation, SANIPLAN has performed projects in more than 60 countries.

The scope of our services includes:

- Finding, designing, and handling of projects considering national policies, foreign aid strategies, environmental compatibility, efficiency and long-term effects

- Conduct of expert studies, feasibility studies, evaluations from an interdisciplinary aspect

- Compilation of comprehensive operation plans including organisation charts, bar charts, financial plans, construction plans, etc.

- Implementation of total tendering processes including drafting of tender documents, evaluation of tenders, and proposals for tender awards

- Negotiation of contracts for services and supplies in view of the agreed specifications and in consideration of the interests of the executing agency

- Control and inspection of guarantee services and supplies

- Supervision of construction works, management and inspection

- Elaboration of programmes for vocational training and on-the-job training, especially with reference to maintenance and repairs
