About

Sabesp is a joint stock company founded in 1973 and is currently responsible for water supply, sewage collection and treatment in 371 municipalities in the state of São Paulo.

It is considered one of the largest sanitation companies in the world in population served. There are 27.9 million people supplied with water and 22.8 million people with sewage collection.

To supply this population there are 247 water treatment plants that together allow the production of 119,000 liters of water per second. In this connection there are 73.4 thousand kilometers of water and water mains and 8.9 million water connections.

Sabesp is responsible for about 27% of the sanitation investment made in Brazil. For the period 2019-2023, it plans to invest approximately R $ 18.7 billion, with a focus on expanding water availability and safety, without prejudice to advances in sewage collection and treatment rates.

In partnership with private companies, the Company also provides water and sewage services in four other municipalities: Andradina, Castilho, Mairinque and Mogi Mirim.

In the reuse water segment obtained from sewage treatment, Sabesp produces, supplies and markets the product directly through its own stations and as a partner at Aquapolo Ambiental, which supplies the Capuava Petrochemical Complex.

New business
The Company is also a partner in the company Attend Ambiental, in the non-domestic sewage business, and in Paulista Geradora de Energia SA, in the electric energy segment.

The duties of control, supervision and regulation, including tariffs, of our operations are mostly carried out by the São Paulo State Sanitation and Energy Regulatory Agency - Arsesp.

The Company's shares - all voting common shares - are traded on the Novo Mercado segment of the São Paulo Stock, Commodities and Futures Exchange (BM & FBovespa) under the ticker SBSP3 and on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), as American Depositary Receipts (ADR Level III) under the code SBS. The Company continues to integrate the main BM & FBovespa indices.
