Established in 1992 by royal decree, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, or SCFHS, is Saudi Arabia's national regulatory authority responsible for licensing, certifying, and continuously developing the health workforce across all specialties. Through its globally aligned regulatory framework and world-class training systems, SCFHS empowers health care professionals to meet evolving health system demands and lead the workforce of tomorrow.
Guided by its 2025–2030 strategy, SCFHS plays a vital role in Saudi Arabia’s national transformation and global health engagement. The commission advances professional excellence via the Saudi Board postgraduate education programs, a mandatory continuing professional development framework, digital learning platforms, and AI-enabled workforce planning and forecasting tools. SCFHS also leads initiatives to promote practitioner well-being, gender equity, and ethical workforce mobility — such as its flagship Da’em mental health platform and the Global Loyalty Program for Health Professionals.
On the international stage, SCFHS is scaling beyond borders. It actively engages in health diplomacy to forge partnerships, align credentialing systems, and co-develop solutions to global workforce shortages. With a growing portfolio of bilateral agreements and participation in key global fora — from the World Health Assembly to the G20 — SCFHS is positioning Saudi Arabia as a global hub for advanced health professional education and policy leadership.
The world is calling for resilient, inclusive, and future-ready health systems. SCFHS is proud to answer that call.
