The Sebel story began in 1951 with the production of Mobo toys and a new furniture range based around the innovative Stak-a-Bye chair. In the late 1960s the decision was made to drop the toy side of the business and concentrate entirely on the furniture range which had taken the market by storm.

Sebel has a network of offices throughout Australia and has subsidiaries in New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom - the gateway to Europe.
In addition, licensed Sebel distributors operate in North America, South Africa, the Middle East, SE Asia, the Pacific Islands and northern Asia including China, Japan and South Korea.
