About

They're a pretty weird group. It's hard to explain. They are, by origin, a community of writers and illustrators, a self-managed website that started with a historical coincidence that some of us were forced to leave the party together in late April 2013. They do not dwell much on this starting point, because thjey want to live in the present and look to the future, not in the past. A lot of time has passed. They met again in mid-November 2013. One hundred percent amateur, all-voluntary  Freedom they established. As they have done in previous years, without any policy, plan, program or central direction, they started to write what was in their minds, as independent individuals, with whatever their personal acquis was. They were read little by little. At first they were twenty-odd people. Some of them left of their own accord. On the other hand, there were some who liked their atmosphere, attitude and style, and they reached over thirty with new participations. Offers began to come in. They accepted one on the condition of absolute editorial independence. Between April 2015 and the beginning of January 2018, they continued on their way under the roof of Türkmedia. In this way, they diversified and expanded a little bit. They only had columnists and articles; Over time, they also had domestic and foreign news, cartoons and a comprehensive archive. Sometimes guest writers sometimes they were able to include translations from the foreign press. They hoped to embrace more and more the non-political dimensions of social life, but they did relatively little.

Now, at this second turning point, where they have come again by coming out from under the roof of Turkmedia, they should perhaps emphasize once again that their most fundamental wealth, their source of strength, is the diversity within themselves. At this point, there are some ex-leftists among them who come from the almost prehistoric fractions of the 1960s and 70s; there are independent Kurdish intellectuals; There are Muslim thinkers, poets, environmentalists and feminists. It's probably a bit of a rarity for today's extremely polarized and polarized Turkey. Because in an environment where everyone is meticulous, snatching moisture from the air and seeking almost absolute genetic identity, they can only coexist with two minimum commons. The first is genuine and sincere democracy. To accept and take the existing democracy, democratic processes and procedures as a basis; to stick here and there, to erode, not to put question marks on it. Not to give an iota of importance to any kind of pro-violence, practice, theory, defense or excuse in politics. Adopting the legitimacy arising from democratic processes and procedures, regardless of who they are; on the contrary, to completely ignore any other criterion or ground of legitimacy.
