SGI STUDIO GALLI INGEGNERIA S.P.A. (SGI) is a leading Italian consultancy specialized in the sectors of water, environment, civil engineering, transportation, urban planning, landscape management and renewable energy. Established in 1920 as a family-owned water engineering firm, SGI has expanded into a joint stock company that in 2010 celebrated its 90th Anniversary.
Apart from the headquarters in Padua, SGI has six registered office throughout Italy (Belluno, Milan, Naples, Rome, Sassari, and Ancona) and several branch offices worldwide, namely in Iraq, China, Montenegro, Qatar, Russia, Senegal, Mauritius, Tanzania, India and Bolivia. They are also one of the founders of DFS Engineering, an international consultancy based in Beijing.

SGI’s core business sector is water, specifically hydraulics, hydrology, water and sanitation infrastructure, coastal and river engineering, flood protection, land reclamation, environmental management and water quality. Their other sectors of operation cover urban planning, infrastructure design and operation, transportation, energy and environmental research. SGI provides an integrated service throughout the entire project life cycle, including feasibility studies, economic and financial analysis, environmental impact assessments, preliminary and detailed design, master plans, assistance to procurement and commissioning, works supervision, training and capacity building.
SGI employs more than 130 specialists that work across a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines, such as water resources and environmental sciences, optimisation of water supply and wastewater assets, leakage control, landscape design, structures, transportation, energy and environmental research.
SGI is member of the Italian Association of Engineering, Architectural and Technical - Economic Consultancy Organisations (OICE) and the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). They are certified according to ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance system.
