Shikshak Monthly is a monthly Nepali-language journal for teachers and educators published by the Himal Association in Kathmandu. It was established in 2008 to support the skills development and build self-esteem among teachers in Nepal's government schools.
Purpose of publication:
- To open the door for dialogue between teachers and the community about education, teaching and teachers;
- To assist in the enhancement of the academic, intellectual, value, professional and skillful capacity of the teacher;
- To uplift the morale of the teachers by restoring the social prestige of the teaching profession and to spread the message that 'teaching is a complete profession in itself, let's learn to enjoy it';
- To introduce meaningful relationship between teacher-student and teacher-parent in the society first;
- To act as a messenger to convey the aspirations and aspirations of the teachers to the policy makers and the expectations of the policy makers and the government to the teachers;
- To impart interesting, informative and useful thoughts, activities and technologies taking place in the field of education and teaching methods to the teachers of Nepal.
