Pracownia Badań i Innowacji Społecznych "Stocznia" was established to critically and reliably describe the challenges related to social life in Poland and to search for and disseminate effective, innovative and civic participation methods to respond to them.
Particularly important in the activities of the Shipyard is to strengthen cooperation between two environments: researchers-dormitories and social activists, also active in non-governmental organizations.
The current activities undertaken by the Shipyard concentrate on four key issues: research and evaluation, social innovation, civic participation and the approximation of knowledge and practice.
Research and evaluation: They provide knowledge useful in effective operation. They design and implement social research and evaluation.
Social innovations : They support the development of social innovations, which they understand as innovative solutions responding to real social problems.
Civic participation : They support the development of civic participation in various ways, which they understand as involving citizens in decision-making processes.
Approaching knowledge and practice : They enable and facilitate the exchange of knowledge, skills and experiences between dorms and practitioners, believing that they will benefit from.
They are open to new cooperation opportunities. In addition to its statutory activities, it also conducts commercial activities, the profits of which are intended entirely for the implementation of statutory objectives.
