The DIF National System is the decentralized public body in charge of coordinating the National System of Public and Private Social Assistance; promoter of the integral protection of the rights of girls, boys and adolescents, under the constitutional imperative of the best interests of children, as well as the integral development of the individual, the family and the community, mainly of those who due to their physical condition , mentally or socially they face a situation of vulnerability, until they achieve their incorporation into a full and productive life.
Background
In 1977, the Mexican Institute for Children and the Family (IMPI) and the Mexican Institute for Childhood Assistance (IMAN) merged, giving way to the creation of the National System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family.
With the promulgation of the Law that created the SNDIF in 1986, its powers were expanded by granting it the character of coordinator of assistance efforts, both in the three levels of government, as well as between institutions and organizations, public and private, immersed in the provision of social assistance services.

Contribute to the integral development of the population through the design of public policies, the execution of social assistance programs and actions, as well as the coordination of the National Public and Private Social Assistance System, in favor of families and individuals who, in their various stages of life, face some condition of vulnerability.
