The goal of this long-term program is to develop a continuous pool of high quality small business counseling services throughout the APEC region in order to enhance the competitiveness of APEC SMEs in the global market.

Program objectives include: 

1.     To implement the small business counsellor certification program equally and equitably among the participating economies by levering the experiences of the successful economies for the benefit of those struggling by.

    ·       Promoting the  establishment of the  framework and infrastructure for the
        APEC-IBIZ program among APEC economies not yet participating in the
        program.

2.     To make use of information communication technologies (ICT) to achieve maximum greater understanding and use of  the information and knowledge based economy and provide access and cost effectiveness of the APEC-IBIZ program and other micro and small business development programs throughout the region.

3.     To utilize the established and emerging network to stimulate cooperation and understanding of common issues facing the MSME counselling community.
